Personal Statement

A great college essay highlights a student’s personal attributes, how they are unique from their peers, and the kind of impact they can contribute to their community. With FLEX College Prep’s free College Essay Workshop, students will learn how FLEX essay specialists guide their students to write in a way that is specific, personal, cohesive, and that aligns with what colleges are looking for in a stand-out student.

A "personal statement" on the Common App refers to a 650-word essay where applicants can showcase their personality, values, and significant life experiences to college admissions officers, essentially allowing them to tell their story and explain why they would be a good fit for the institution; it's the primary way for colleges to get to know you beyond just your grades and test scores on the application.

Students work closely with their FLEX essay specialist to develop their own topics and to ensure that their unique voices are reflected in their Common Application.

While students are honing their essay-writing skills, parents will have the opportunity to learn more about the changing College Admissions process and ask questions that are specific to their student.
